The district fire chief of the Eichstätt district Martin Lackner and Hepberg’s fire department commander René Karmann presented the company award to company owner Reinhard Büchl.
The Büchl company, which originated in the district of Eichstätt, where it is responsible for the disposal of residual waste and waste paper and operates a composting plant with a biogas plant between Hepberg and Stammham, has been providing financial support to the Hepberg fire department for 15 years.
Thanks to this support, the fire department in Hepberg is able to offer a voluntary first responder service in addition to its traditional firefighting and technical assistance work. The first responder service is an addition to the rescue chain whose task is to bridge the time until the arrival of an ambulance (rescue service) with qualified basic medical measures.
The district fire brigade association in conjunction with the Bavarian State Fire Brigade Association repeatedly honors above-average, committed companies that support voluntary work in the fire departments.
At the award ceremony, district fire chief Martin Lackner thanked the Büchl company in his laudatory speech for its many years of appreciative support.
In his words of thanks, Hepberg’s fire department commander René Karmann mentioned that the Büchl company’s donations will primarily benefit the paramedic and first responder group, which has been in existence since 2008. “A large part of the additional medical equipment is financed by donations – Büchl has been making an important and decisive contribution here for 15 years,” says Karmann.
In addition, there has been close contact between the Hepberg fire department and Büchl for decades. In 2000, for example, the largest Upper Bavarian district youth camp to date was held in Hepberg, where the Büchl company took care of waste disposal free of charge.
The Büchl company was also a partner in the waste paper collection, which was carried out by the fire department. For logistical and organizational reasons, this had to be discontinued by the fire department and is now limited to the collection of old clothes.
Company owner Reinhard Büchl and his managing directors Jürgen Kienlein and Peter Meissner expressed their thanks for the award. They confirmed that they would continue to support the fire department in the future.
